How many rings should a man wear?

A man can wear as many rings as he wants but there is a general consensus that men shouldn't wear anymore than three rings, per hand.

Commonly men wear rings on their thumbs, pinkies and index fingers. And, it's been happening since the Egyptian pharaohs, Viking raiders, and Ottoman sultans. How cool is that!  

Are men's rings in style?
