Does Citizen make automatic watches?

Yes, Citizen has an automatic watch collection that incorporates diversity and an attractive selection of colour combinations.  The range offers durability that surpasses its counterpart, the quartz. 

Is Citizen considered a luxury watch?

While the Citizen brand is not considered a luxury brand, Citizen does produce a range of luxury watches that appeal to the tastes of the high-end. 

How do Citizen automatic watches work?

Citizen automatic watches feature self-winding capabilities, which change the internal mechanics of the watch to respond to the movement of the wearer’s wrist.  The automatic watch uses a ‘rotor’ to control its movement in response to the shifting wrist, winding the mainspring inside the barrel.  

Are Citizen Eco-Drive watches automatic?

No.  Citizen Eco-Drive watches are not automatic, they have a quartz movement.  In 1976 the company developed its first-ever light-powered quartz analogue watch, calling the technology Eco-Drive.   Eco-Drive does not require battery change like standard quartz watches, rechargeable by light.
